This pod is cast from the yucca known commonly as the Joshua tree. Legend has it that Mormon pioneers named the tree after the biblical figure, Joshua, seeing the limbs of the tree as outstretched in supplication, guiding the travelers westward. It is often seen as a symbol of strength and endurance due to its ability to thrive in harsh desert conditions.
