The Aerisbotanica collection brings together a love of nature and magic, and a respect for tradition. In Latin, aeris means bronze, and botanica means, well, botanical.  We chose this name because of the deep and ancient tradition of bronze casting. To create these objects, we use the lost wax process, which dates to 3700 BC.  Continuing this traditional process, brings into the present special, lasting objects for a peaceful life.

Aerisbotanica is the collaboration between artists Jennifer Joseph and Chris Collins. Chris is a sculptor and an urban forager, and sources all of the pods, seeds and stones from forays into the streets of downtown Los Angeles and the beaches up and down the coast. Jennifer is a painter and installation artist and started making small bronze bowls to have something to burn incense in, as part of her meditation and ritual practice.

Partners since 2008, Jennifer and Chris have pooled their considerable creative energy into collaborations, installations and an art collective. They are based in Los Angeles, CA with deep roots in Santa Fe, NM.
